What happens if Shopify is slow or down?
Barcode lookup does not wait on Shopify. Tender POS reads mirrored catalog and inventory data locally, so scanning stays fast while the Shopify API is slow. Sending a sale or refund back still needs Shopify to be reachable and runs in a workflow that can retry.
How do sales get back into Shopify?
After Tender POS records a completed sale, a workflow creates one Shopify order with linked variants, completed payments, and customer context. The new order is then mirrored locally as the same sale.
How is the mirror kept current?
The first sync imports locations, catalog, discounts, inventory, customers, and orders. Afterward, signed Shopify webhook events trigger targeted refetches for changed records.
