How Tender POS connects to Adyen

You keep the Adyen account you already have. Tender POS only asks for the access it needs to drive terminals.

01

Connect your credentials

Connect Adyen with the API credentials and merchant or service details from your existing account. Those credentials need permission to list terminals, initiate terminal payments, and check their status.

02

Save your terminals

Pick the active terminals returned by your connection and save the ones you actually use at the counter.

03

Bind them to locations

Bind each terminal to a store location. A payment request is only sent when the selected terminal belongs to that location and connected Adyen account.

What Tender POS controls—and what stays with Adyen.

Tender POS coordinates the in-store payment flow. Adyen remains the payment provider.

On your terminal

Payment requests

Amount, currency, and sale description are sent to the terminal bound to the selected store location.

Card-present checkout

The customer completes payment on the Adyen terminal; card entry stays on the provider's device.

Payment status

Tender POS checks Adyen until the payment reaches a final status and reflects that result at the register.

Refunds

Refund to the original payment, or send a terminal-return refund to the bound Adyen terminal when that method is selected.

What stays yours

Your contract

Tender POS connects to the Adyen account you already hold; it does not replace that agreement.

Your rates

Transaction pricing and commercial terms continue to come from Adyen, untouched by Tender POS.

Your payouts

Adyen continues to settle funds and pay out under the settings of your own account.

Your terminal fleet

Choose active terminals returned by your Adyen connection and assign saved terminals to the store locations that use them.

One flow for the cashier.

Tender POS sends the checkout total to the bound Adyen terminal and checks the provider status until it succeeds, fails, is cancelled, or expires. The cashier stays in one flow while Adyen continues to handle the card payment and merchant settlement.

Questions about Adyen and Tender POS.

Do I need a new Adyen contract?

No. Connect the Adyen account and terminals you already use. Your contract and provider rates remain in force; Tender POS does not become your payment processor.

Which Adyen terminals work?

Tender POS shows active terminals returned by your connected Adyen account. Save the terminals you need and bind them to a store location; availability depends on the access granted to your Adyen credentials.

How does Tender POS know a payment finished?

After sending the payment request, Tender POS checks Adyen until the payment succeeds, fails, is cancelled, or expires. That final result is reflected back at the register.

How do refunds work with Adyen?

Start the refund from the order in Tender POS. When eligible, choose the original payment or a return on the bound Adyen terminal. Tender follows the provider result and then records the refund in your commerce platform.
